The awards were presented by Chief Guest Subodh Kant Sahai, Union Minister for Tourism, Govt of India.

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) founded in 1951, celebrated its Diamond Jubilee this year. To celebrate the occasion TAAI organised the India Travel Trade Expo (ITTE) and the third TAAI Travel Awards on 16th and 17th December, 2011 at Taj Land's End in Mumbai. TAAI was held in order to felicitate the most deserving personalities and companies for their outstanding contribution in the Travel Industry.
