World Market (www.worldmarket.com) is thrilled to announce the opening of its latest store in Mount Prospect, IL, making this the 13th location in Illinois for the specialty retailer. Located in the Randhurst Village Shopping Center at 151 E. Euclid Avenue, the store will carry a unique, authentic and affordable selection of home furniture, home décor, fashion accessories, personal care products, and gourmet food and wine from around the world.

"Illinois is an important market for us and we're excited to add our newest World Market location into a vibrant and growing Chicago suburb, such as Mount Prospect," said Fred Rancour, Senior Vice President of Stores.

The grand opening celebration for the public begins on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 8:30 am when the Honorable Mayor Irvana Wilks of Mount Prospect marks the official store opening with a ribbon cutting. In addition to shopping throughout the weekend, customers will enjoy giveaways, live music, free food and beverage sampling, and raffle drawings for World Market gift baskets and $100 World Market gift cards.

On Saturday, March 31 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm, customers are invited to meet Jeff Mauro, host of Food Network's Sandwich King and winner of season seven of Food Network Star. In celebration of the store opening, Jeff has created two special sandwich recipes for World Market, which he'll demonstrate and sample for customers.

All events are free and open to the public. Customers should call the new Mount Prospect store at 847.590.5841 for more information about the weekend's events (all events are subject to change or cancellation without advance notice).

During the celebration weekend, customers can peruse World Market's newest summer collection. Furniture and décor items from the new Bali Collection can turn any outdoor space into a tropical paradise. From the new All-Weather Wicker Solano Sectional and outdoor textiles adorned with bright patterns and stripes to acrylic plates and tumblers, you'll want to spend all your time outside.

From dining tables to textiles and holiday décor to gourmet food and wine, customers can find everything they need to affordably refresh their homes or set the table for a dinner.
