Content Television Strikes New Deals For Critics' Choice Movie Awards 11 January, 2012

Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation, has secured a host of new deals with leading pay TV networks for the upcoming 17th edition of the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, it was announced today, which will see the event making its debut in a number of territories.

Broadcasting live on VH1 in the US on 12th January 2012, the Critics' Choice Movie Awards has been acquired by entertainment channel STAR World covering broadcast rights for South East Asia, Fox Movies in the Middle East and Canadian pay TV network, Super Channel. The two-hour event, now under licence to over eighty territories worldwide, will also air in India on Zee Café and Zee Studio and throughout Latin and Central America with MGM Networks.

These new deals add to existing rights agreements with Non Stop Television for territories throughout Europe and Movie Network in Australia. The 2012 edition marks the second year the event has been available to international broadcasters.

Nominations for the 17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards were announced on 13th December, with the hit silent movie The Artist and Martin Scorsese's Hugo leading with 11 nominations each; alongside breakout hit features including War Horse, The Help, The Descendants and Moneyball. Acting talent such as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton all garnered individual nominations. Comedians Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer will host the awards.
