  • Bank colleagues are volunteering at the Saturday parade to show their support for Manchester Pride

The Co-op Bank is proud to be a supporter of this year's Manchester Pride Big Weekend.

Taking place in Manchester City Centre this weekend, colleague volunteers will be representing the bank along the Once Upon a Time parade route on Saturday 27 August.

The Co-op Bank is the only UK high street bank with a customer-led ethical policy, written into its Articles of Association. As part of that, the bank is committed to providing an ethical culture for customers and staff, and an ethical workplace for colleagues. The bank has a dedicated LGBT colleague network; 'Proud Together', which is open to colleagues across the business and is fully supported by the bank.

Laura Carstensen, Chair of The Co-operative Bank Values and Ethics Committee said: 'The Co-op Bank is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and our Proud Together network does a fantastic job of giving colleagues access to a network within the business that supports and promotes inclusivity.

'We're very happy to be a supporter of this year's Manchester Pride Big Weekend. With 42 per cent of bank colleagues based in the city, it's great for us to be involved and that volunteers from across the business will be representing the bank at the Saturday parade, showing our continuing commitment to ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace that is a cornerstone of the Bank's approach to values and ethics.'
