Zhangqiu Project (Plant 5) will be invested in, constructed, operated and maintained based on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model by a project company in which Everbright Water will hold a 99% equity interest. With a cooperation period of 30 years (construction period inclusive), the project mainly involves the construction of a waste water treatment plant, an ancillary pipeline network and a waste water pump station based on an integration model of the plant and the pipeline network. Among others, the project comprises a waste water treatment plant with a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 40,000 m3 and a designed daily reusable water supply capacity of 20,000 m3, and an ancillary pipeline network of approximately 16.8 km in length. The discharged water of the project will comply with the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB3838-2002) for Category Quasi-IV.
With Zhangqiu Project (Plant 5), Everbright Water has a total of five waste water treatment projects in the Zhangqiu District, with an aggregate designed daily water treatment capacity of 260,000 m3 (including waste water treatment and reusable water supply capacities). This will further expand the Company's service coverage in the area. Additionally, Zhangqiu Project (Plant 5) will mainly serve the western urban area of the Zhangqiu District, which is located between the Company's Zhangqiu Waste Water Treatment Project (Plant 3) and the Zhangqiu Waste Water Treatment (Plant 4) PPP Project. This will enable the Company to leverage the waste water pipeline networks and pump stations of all these projects to optimise the allocation of waste water with more flexibly. In a nutshell, this will enhance the Company's overall waste water treatment efficiency and safeguard the local environmental, social and economic development.
