Chico's FAS Inc. plans to close at least 250 stores and expand a review of its operations. The company said it would close at least 250 stores in the United States over the next three years, as part of its decision to "rebalance the mix" between its physical stores and its digital presence. By closing stores, the company said, it could take advantage of expiring leases, while improving profitability and return on capital. Closings will be across the three brands, and more stores will shutter in 2020 and 2021 than this year.
