Cbeyond®, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a leading IP-based managed services provider to small businesses, announced that Terry Trout, vice president of customer experience, has been named Women in Technology's (WIT) 2007 Woman of the Year.

The Women of the Year in Technology Awards honor female executives who achieve remarkable results during their career in the Georgia technology industry, both within their organization and within their community.

Trout was recognized in the mid-market/medium organization category for her leadership role in driving Cbeyond's customer experience. A Cbeyond employee since the company's inception in 1999, Trout has been integral in the company's growth and on-going strategic initiatives that have resulted in a 99-percent monthly customer retention rate and a customer referral rate of greater than 30-percent.

?It is a tremendous honor to be recognized among the level of leadership represented by my fellow nominees and their companies,? said Trout. ?I'm extremely grateful to receive this award and for the opportunities that exist for women to succeed in technology. I extend my thanks to WIT for the recognition and for their successful efforts in promoting the advancement of women.?

Previously, in her role as vice president of corporate communications, Trout led the development of CbeyondOnline?, an online account management tool that simplifies bill payment and gives customers complete control of their account. She also launched Cbeyond's community service program enabling Cbeyond employees to give back to the communities where they work and live.

Trout is actively involved in a variety of leadership and mentoring activities. She founded Cbeyond's Women's Network, an organization designed to foster professional development for Cbeyond women through a variety of educational sessions and networking events. She is a mentor for WEDA (Women's Economic Development Association), on the advisory board of the SBA Women's Business Center at The Edge Connection and holds a board position at the Sullivan Center.

?Terry's energy and willingness to say ?yes' to everything asked of her at Cbeyond and within the community makes her a model employee and a model citizen,? said Jim Geiger, chairman and chief executive officer of Cbeyond. ?Her talent matches that energy.?
