TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a
reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results for the
period to be reported upon next will differ by at least 20% from the
financial results for the previous corresponding period.
Shareholders are referred to Buildmax's reviewed interim results for 2011,
released during November 2010, in which Buildmax stated that it expects an
improvement in the group's results for the second half of 2011 and
highlighted the fact that a loss will still be reported.
Shareholders are advised that Buildmax's Headline Loss Per Share for
continuing and discontinued operations for the year ended 28 February 2011
are expected to be between 20% and 30% lower than the year ended 28 February
2010. The Basic Loss Per Share for continuing and discontinued operations are
expected to improve by between 75% to 90%.
The information on which this trading statement has been based has not yet
been reported on by the company's auditors.
The group's audited financial results for the year ended 28 February 2011 are
expected to be released on or about 31 May 2011.
