Bank South Pacific announced the appointment of three senior management roles effective as of June 1, 2018. Mr. Robin Fleming, Chief Executive Officer announced that Daniel Faunt who joined BSP in November, 2016, as Senior Manager Pacific Business Liaison, working with the Non PNG Countries, is promoted to General Manager, Offshore Branches. In his new role, Mr. Faunt will assume formal General Management responsibility for all of BSP banking operations in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands which previously had shared reporting to Group General Manager Retail, Paul Thornton, and the Group CEO. As a member of BSP's Executive Committee he will report directly to the Group CEO. Other appointments include: Haroon Ali as the new "Country Head - Fiji" to succeed Kevin McCarthy who is retiring at the end of 2018. Mr. Ali, who will be the first Fijian to head the Bank's business in Fiji, has held the position of Group Chief Risk Officer since July 2013 based in Port Moresby, PNG. Mr. Ali is a highly skilled senior banker with 38 years of diverse experience in Fiji, Australia and Papua New Guinea. Prior to joining BSP as the Bank's Chief Risk Officer in Fiji, Mr. Ali worked for the ANZ Group for more than 30 years. He has extensive experience in risk management, Corporate/Commercial/SME banking, Support Operations, Trade Finance and Retail Banking. With Mr. Ali's move to Fiji, Mike Hallinan, currently the Chief Credit Officer, will take on the role of Group Chief Risk Officer. Mr. Hallinan commenced employment with BSP on 26 September, 2013, as Chief Credit Officer. His strong contributions and achievements as Chief Credit Officer during his first term saw his re-appointment to the same role for a second term.
