CodeGear, a leader in developer tools, today announced it has partnered with MySQL AB to provide integrated solutions that will give developers more flexibility in quickly developing rich, database-driven Web applications.

Announced at the 2007 MySQL Conference in Santa Clara, CodeGear and MySQL AB said they have collaborated on integrating the MySQL open source database with CodeGear's Delphi® Integrated Development Environment (IDE) product line, including the new Delphi for PHP and Delphi 2007 for Win32 products, as well as Delphi for .NET.

Delphi for PHP is the first IDE to bring RAD productivity and a reusable, visual component-based approach to PHP Web development. PHP is designed to allow Web developers to write dynamically generated pages more quickly, and is the most prominent dynamic Web language today. Delphi for PHP's visual Rapid Application Development (RAD) development environment and support for the MySQL database accelerates PHP Web development and facilitates code reuse. It does this by encapsulating PHP code into reusable visual components and providing a robust open-source, visual-component framework as a foundation.

?We've partnered with MySQL to make it seamless and affordable to rapidly develop powerful, database-driven Web applications for both Windows and PHP with visual component-based RAD tools like Delphi,? said Michael Swindell, CodeGear vice president of products and strategy. ?Our goal is to give developers choice and flexibility in building rich, high-performing applications. Our partnering and integrated products will make it easier for developers to build and deploy with MySQL, which has become one of the most widely used databases for applications development.?

?Delphi is synonymous with rapid application development,? said Zack Urlocker, MySQL AB's executive vice president of products. ?We think that it's fantastic that CodeGear is bringing its visual tools experience to make the lives of software developers easier in building Web and open-source LAMP applications. We welcome Delphi programmers to our community and CodeGear to our new partner program.?
