BDI and Brau Union Austria win the Energy Globe Award 2016

04.05.2016

(Grambach, May 4, 2016): Every year, remarkable energy and environmental projects are awarded by the federal province of Styria as part of the Energy Globe Styria Awards. In 2016, BDI - BioEnergy International AG and Brau Union Austria have thereby, amongst others, won the price for the overall winner with their project 'Green Brewery Göss'.

Together with Brau Union Austria, BDI has won the most significant environmental price of Styria. The two companies received the award for their sustainability initiative 'Green Breweries'. With the help of the spent-grain fermentation plant of BDI it was thus possible for the Brewery Göss to switch to 100 per cent renewable energy and could thus reach the last milestone for CO2 - neutrality at the location of Göss.

For this outstanding achievement both companies were awarded the Energy Globe STYRIA AWARD 2016 in a formal ceremony on April 28, 2016. Furthermore, the price in the category 'Application' also went to this Styrian exemplary project. BDI and Brau Union Austria were able to prevail against a total of 80 Initiatives - 30 per cent more than last year.
