• The bank has a total of 12 mobile branches that, throughout the year, have allowed customers and non-customers of the bank to carry out 200,000 transactions, including cash withdrawals, deposits, paying bills and taxes
  • The 'ofibuses' have travelled almost 43,000 kilometres per month, even during the weeks of Covid-19 lockdown and have provided services in six autonomous regions, always following the recommendations of the health authorities
  • The provinces serviced are Madrid, Valencia, Castellón, Ávila, Segovia, La Rioja, Ciudad Real and Granada

Bankia has attended 250,000 people in 373 municipalities at risk of financial exclusion during 2020 through its 'ofibuses', mobile branches that allow users, whether or not they are customers of the bank, to carry out the usual transactions that are carried out at any physical branch. This year, 200,000 transactions have been carried out at these mobile branches.

Bankia's 12 mobile branches have travelled, even during the weeks when the state of alarm decreed due to the Covid-19 pandemic was in place, almost 43,000 kilometres per month and have continued to operate in six autonomous regions: Communities of Madrid, Valencia, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, La Rioja and Andalusia.

These mobile branches have not lost their vocation for service during the pandemic and Bankia managers have worked in all the municipalities where they did so before the state of alarm, within the provinces of Madrid, Valencia, Castellón, Ávila, Segovia, La Rioja, Ciudad Real and Granada, except for in nursing homes at the express recommendation of the health authorities. According to the bank's satisfaction surveys, the residents of these municipalities have valued and appreciated the service provided.

To comply with the recommendations of the health authorities, all Bankia 'ofibuses' and managers have been provided right from the beginning with the necessary protective material: screens, masks and hydrogels.

During the state of alarm, the mobile branches have served well above the average of the other retail network branches, recording around 70% of the traffic of customers that they had been attending during normal months.

Main transactions

This service by Bankia gives the possibility of withdrawing cash, making deposits or paying receipts and taxes to 250,000 people -according to the data of the National Statistics Institute (INE)- living in these locations at risk of financial exclusion.

Bankia's mobile branches are operational from 08.00 to 18.00 hours, from Monday to Thursday and on Fridays from 08.00 to 15.00.

'Having been able to maintain the service provided by the mobile branches to serve all customers living in small towns throughout the year makes us especially proud because this is one of Bankia's differential service that we are very proud of. Our goal is to be close to all our customers making their lives easier, including those who live in locations where there are no bank branches and which we have continued to attend even during the state of alarm', underlined the corporate director of Bankia Retail Network, José Ignacio Fanego.

Ofibuses by Autonomous Community

Bankia has five mobile offices in Castilla y León, two in the Community of Valencia and La Rioja, and one in the Community of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia. In addition, it has two other ofibuses in reserve.
