The Chair of the Single Resolution Board (SRB) Dominique Laboureix and the Chair of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (SSM) Claudia Buch are in Athens and the Bank of Greece on a two-day visit (Thursday 11 and Friday 12 January 2024).

The heads of the two European institutions met today with Governor Yannis Stournaras and top executives of the Bank of Greece. In the context of their visit to the Bank of Greece, the heads of the two European supervisory bodies will also meet with representatives of Greek banks and the Hellenic Banking Association. They will also have contacts with the Greek government.

The discussion agenda includes inter alia the current situation and prospects of Greek banks, as well as issues pertaining to supervision and the cooperation between the two European institutions and the Bank of Greece.
