Poing/Munich - EBV Elektronik, an Avnet company (NYSE: AVT) and the leading specialist in EMEA's semiconductor distribution, has been presented with the 'Golden Award' for its commitment to climate protection and improvement of its carbon footprint, by the 'Munich Climate Protection' alliance.

Criteria for this prestigious award was the outstanding engagement and commitment of EBV in the area of climate protection. EBV has, amongst many other activities, sponsored e-bikes for the employees of the Munich Town Hall as well as illuminated parts of the Schottenhamel beer tent at the Munich Oktoberfest. The "Golden Award", in the form of a certificate, was presented by the Mayor of the City of Munich, Hep Monatzeder, as part of an official ceremony held at Munich City Hall.
