Making The Cut: Richard Cox — Pushing the Right Buttons

Richard Cox is a BAFTA award-winning editor, who has worked on dramas, documentaries, commercials and music videos. His drama credits include Torchwood, Last Tango in Halifax, Doctor Foster and Happy Valley. He also holds the prestigious role of Head of Editing at the world-renowned National Film and Television School, imparting to the next generation the art of editing as well as techniques and technology.

Here, Richard discusses the enjoyment he gets from passing on his knowledge of Avid editing features and functions to students - which in turn helps him to be a better editor. He also notes how the power of editing can create strong emotional responses, and shares some particular examples that have moved him in the edit suite.
