Fredrik Broman has been recruited as new Chief Technology Officer. In addition to this, Erik Gjötterberg has been recruited as Chief Business Development Officer. Both will be members of Avanza’s Group Management.

Fredrik Broman served most recently as Vice President Engineering at Tink and has previously held several senior engineering positions with Nexus, Klarna and Aktieinvest, among others. He has extensive experience in developing processes, working with technological architecture and driving cloud adoption. Fredrik will take up his new position on 19 August.

“Avanza is a fantastic company that for 25 years has fundamentally changed savings in Sweden through lower prices, higher availability and by always putting the customer first. I very much look forward to contributing to the next step on this journey,” says Fredrik Broman, incoming CTO of Avanza.

Erik Gjötterberg, who will be Chief Business Development Officer, was most recently with Nordea Liv & Pension, where he has been Head of Strategy and Governance. Throughout his career he has worked with business development and has held several senior positions at Nordea and SEB, among others, and been a consultant at McKinsey & Co. Erik will take up his new position on 1 July.

“It will be fantastic to soon have both Fredrik and Erik on board. CTO is a key role for Avanza, which requires a person who is technically proficient, strategically minded and customer centric. I am convinced that Fredrik, with all his experience and knowledge, will be able to take our already strong IT and development operations to the next level – where our continued cloud journey plays an important part. Recruiting Erik as Chief Business Development Officer is a key piece of the puzzle for me to build my team and he will be a valuable addition to Group Management. He also has extensive experience in pensions and insurance, which is an important growth area for Avanza,” says Gustaf Unger, CEO of Avanza.
