PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih continues English language and IT-technologies education for children of company's employees

Kryvyi Rih, January 16, 2017.PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih continues educating children of company's employees in English language and IT-technologies at specialized schools "SmartStart English with ArcelorMittal" and "SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal". From January 13 till February 3, 2017 PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih opens the application submission from company's employees who want their children to study English or computer sciences.

While selection process the following criteria will be taken into consideration:
* The level of parents' salary - the advantage will be given to employees with lower level of average salary among those who submitted the applications;
* Entry or basic level of child's knowledge (for English language school);
* The results of tests, during which the level of child's abilities to the exact sciences will be revealed (for IT-school);
* The priority right for enrolling to schools will be given to the handicapped children; the children of company's employees, who are handicapped; the children of employees who died in ATO zone.

Andrzej Wypych,Director of HR department of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih:"For the second year in the row we continue this social project - there are two schools for children of the company's employees based on ArcelorMittal University in Ukraine. In one of them they can study English language for free and in other - to perceive computer technologies and to practice the knowledge participating in real projects. At summary of educational results in 2016 the participants of "SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal" have presented the real results of their work - creative websites, filled with innovational technologies, 3D modeling, computer animation, multimedia presentations in English. The acquired knowledge will help kids to create interesting projects and to get higher points in school and participants of elder groups, future alumni, will find given knowledge useful whilst university entrance. The management of the company ensured the launch of the following semesters in schools for children, therefore in 2017 ArcelorMittal University will be opened for both continuation study and for new pupils giving children an opportunity to get knowledge and to create new and unique projects for transforming future".

In 2016 academic year "SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal" educated 377 children in the age from 9 to 16 years. Due to selection results the children were divided into three categories: junior (9-11 years old), secondary (12-14 y.o.) and senior (15-16 y.o.) groups. The educational program in "SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal" is specially adopted for each age group of children. For two years of "SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal" school operation almost 700 children of employees have got an opportunity to get acquainted with IT technologies and to expand their knowledge in it for free.

In 2016 English was studied by 671 children of company's employees, for two years of school operation more than one thousand kids were educated here. The mastery of English - international language, gives kids a possibility to easily receive the information about world cultural and scientific achievements, to study abroad and to have a chance in future to make career in international companies. Due to results of specialized interviews all pupils are divided into compact groups in the age range - 6-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-16 years. Each group consists of 10-12 kids, which allows to perform education in more effective way than in usual school class. The classes for kids are held twice a week in the ArcelorMittal University in Ukraine.

Highly skilled teachers, effective methods of education and native speakers which are being invited monthly to talking clubs help kids to master English. In summer 2016 not only pupils of "SmartStart English with ArcelorMittal" had an opportunity study English but also the children of company's employees who had rest in children health camp "Parus" where was arranged the education in specialized clubs for all who were willing to participate.
