(Nasdaq: AMSF), a specialty writer of high hazard workers' compensation insurance, has announced that on December 31, 2009 it completed the previously announced redemption of all 250,000 outstanding shares of its Series C and Series D Convertible Preferred Stock. AMERISAFE used available cash to fund the $25.9 million redemption expense. The redemption terminates rights held by the owners of the Series C and Series D Convertible Preferred Stock that included rights to block payment of dividends on and repurchases of AMERISAFE's common stock.
