Damage to 737 Aircraft Dry Leased to European Operator

Airwork advises that a 737-400 freighter aircraft it dry leases to a customer in Europe has been involved in an incident. According to reports, while landing in Italy in very poor weather conditions, the aircraft overshot a runway and ended up on a nearby road.

There is limited information available at this time, however it is very likely that the aircraft has been damaged beyond economic repair.

Airwork confirms that its dry lease arrangement means that it is not involved in the maintenance or operation of the aircraft. Furthermore, under the terms of the dry lease, the customer has full insurance in place. This issue is not likely to negatively impact FY17 results.

The 737-400F is one of 19 Boeing 737s Airwork has in its fleet.
