AEON REIT Investment Corporation entered into an agreement to acquire AEON MALL Yamatokoriyama and AEON MALL Kofu Showa from ÆON Mall Co., Ltd. (TSE:8905) for ¥22.5 billion on January 18, 2016. AEON REIT Investment will pay ¥14.5 billion for AEON MALL Yamatokoriyama and ¥8 billion for AEON MALL Kofu Showa. The transaction will be financed from net proceeds from the issuance of new investment units, debt financing and cash on hand. In related deals, AEON REIT Investment Corporation entered into agreements to acquire AEON MALL Chiba-Newtown, Daiei-Kawasaki Process Center and AEON Chigasaki-Chuo Shopping Center. AEON MALL Yamatokoriyama reported ¥1537 million of revenues and AEON MALL Kofu Showa reported ¥785 million of revenues for the year ending December 31, 2015. AEON REIT Investment will enter into a master lease agreement for AEON MALL Yamatokoriyama and AEON MALL Kofu Showa with ÆON Mall Co., Ltd. The transaction is expected to close on February 29, 2016.

As of February 23, 2016, AEON REIT Investment raised ¥25.5 billion of debt in order to finance the transaction. the Japan Real Estate Institute acted as appraiser for AEON MALL Yamatokoriyama and AEON MALL Kofu Showa properties.
