January 7th, 2012, Taipei -Advantech, the leading embedded platform and total solutions provider, today launched based on the Intel® Atom™ processor N455 1.66GHz /D525 1.8GHz processor in small and compact 3.5" Single Board Computer (146 x 102 mm) form factor. Its ruggedized design was built with carefully considered material selections, mechanical design and critical test criterias. PCM-9389 supports either soldered DDRIII SDRAM for high vibration resistance, or SODIMM socket for flexible memory module choices. PCM-9389 comes with Advantech's iManager intelligent management agent inside which can self-diagnose and take precautionary actions to enhance reliability.PCM-9389 comes with both PC/104(ISA) expansion for legacy applications and Low Pin Count buses for four additional COM ports, making it a highly reliable, rich I/O, intelligent, cost-effective and space-saving solution.

Flexible memory solutions: soldered SDRAMor SODIMM socket

PCM-9389 was designed with consideration for different anti-vibration application requirements. So, flexible choices of memory module are available, one is soldered 1GB SDRAM which greatly improves reliability for high anti-vibration applications like in transportation, factory automation and mining etc. The other is a SODIMM socket for customers who want a flexible choice of memory modules which can support up to 4GB.
