nPulse Technologies today announced that it has named Joshua Goldfarb as the company's Chief Security Officer (CSO). Goldfarb is a ten-year security industry veteran joining nPulse's executive team to help the company's growing number of public and private sector customers improve their information security postures by building and enhancing network traffic analysis, security operations, and incident response capabilities. He will also be influential in enhancing nPulse's product set as the company continues to provide innovative, ultrafast packet capture and Big Data security analytics solutions to large enterprises and service providers combating evolving threats to their networks and sensitive information.

"We are thrilled to have Josh on our team as CSO, given his extensive career in security analysis, operations and incident response - areas where our innovative packet capture and Big Data security analytics technologies are helping network defenders transform how they detect and defeat advanced threats," said Timothy Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer, nPulse Technologies. "Josh has the ideal background to help us continually align nPulse inventions and features with customer requirements and understand the evolving needs of demanding organizations across the government and commercial sectors."

Goldfarb is an experienced cyber security analyst with over a decade of experience building, operating, and running Security Operations Centers (SOCs). Before joining nPulse, he worked as an independent network security consultant to Fortune 500 enterprises and formerly served as the Chief of Analysis for the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT). Goldfarb built US-CERT's network, physical media and malware analysis/forensics capabilities from the ground up while at the agency and is a noted security thought leader and speaker.

"nPulse has built a rock solid foundation and architecture that will enable a level of analysis over extremely rich data that is otherwise very difficult to achieve," Goldfarb added. "It is a privilege to join this team of innovators and work with them to deliver the urgently needed Big Data security analytics solutions that remain unsolved by the competition."

nPulse's flagship product, Capture Probe eXtreme (CPX) 4.0, leverages lossless packet capture technology to provide easily searched and indexed storage of network packets, connections, and session data. CPX operates at 20Gbps and captures 100 percent of network traffic, time stamping every packet with nanosecond resolution. It streams traffic to disk and generates a multi-key index for rapid search and retrieval of the traffic network defenders need to take action against threats. CPX's features and performance give security operation centers the tools to quickly see what is happening on their networks, when it started, and how long it's been going on - helping to dramatically to enhance and accelerate security investigations and resolution efforts.
