WASHINGTON, July 9 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Tuesday that her department would press ahead with rulemaking efforts despite the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision to overturn a 40-year legal standard that gave deference to federal agencies to interpret laws passed by Congress.

Yellen told the House Financial Services Committee that she had concerns about the court's "Chevron" decision and Treasury legal teams were studying its implications, but was not aware of any specific restrictions that it raised so far.
