LOS ALTOS, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2016) - Intellus Learning announced today that Mark Triest, a seasoned higher education and technology executive, has joined the company as president. Triest has managed large-scale operations in education software and professional services, and he brings a unique specialization in technology solutions designed to improve outcomes and enhance student experience at postsecondary institutions.

"Our goal is to streamline instructional design and improve affordability by making OER and digital content more accessible," said David J. Kim, Founder of Intellus Learning. "Mark brings critical leadership and a deep understanding of the challenges and demands of higher education leaders to our team."

Earlier in 2014, Intellus Learning launched a new platform designed to help faculty discover, review and use the abundant digital resources, including Open Education Resources (OER) that are available within their colleges and universities. As President, Triest will oversee a national cohort of faculty and instructional designers who will pilot the company's OER content discovery platform. He will also lead the development of strategic partnerships with institutions who will use intelligent analytics and digital content curation to streamline instructional design and improve institutional effectiveness.

"The Intellus Learning platform is revolutionizing the way colleges and universities organize and find digital content and resources, and Mark is the ideal leader to create strategic partnerships with faculty and leaders," said Michael Horn, advisor to Intellus Learning and co-founder of the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation. "I've admired Mark's work for many years and value his role as a bridge-builder between technology experts and higher education."

Triest's expertise in higher education spans student and enrollment management, digital content and administration. He has held senior executive positions at numerous startups and edtech companies, including Sungard Higher Education, Uversity, and ExLibris. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation in education, and serves as an advisor at LearnLaunch, the Boston-based edtech accelerator. A longtime resident of the greater Boston area, Triest received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
