July 3 (Reuters) - Uruguay's consumer prices rose 0.36% in May versus the previous month, the South American nation's statistics agency said on Wednesday, slightly down from a 0.40% increase registered a month earlier.

Inflation in the 12 months through June stood at 4.96%, the agency added, an uptick from 4.10% in May. (Reporting by Sarah Morland Editing by Chris Reese)
