Verified reports from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Kentucky are that former UC Redshirt Freshman Backup QB, Luke Wright, will join his former UC-Offensive Coordinator and QB coaches as a Kentucky Wildcat. He has already enrolled and is currently attending classes for the Spring Semester.

Wright was named UC’s backup QB prior to the Miami Hurricane ESPN Thursday night ‘Game Of The Week’ on Oct. 1, 2015. Additionally Coach Tuberville, when addressing the media, referred to Wright as "a former preferred walk-on" (prior to the aforementioned game), and also during the 2015 Hawaii Bowl while addressing his status as a scholarship player on the team.

Although seeing limited action in four game appearances, Rivals.com noted, "Wright is truly the Sleeper of the 14 QB Recruiting Class showing off a very strong arm and surprising mobility for a 6'4 215-pound QB."

He was recruited, and subsequently offered, by several D1 schools but wanted to join the UC staff and its complex pass-oriented offense, which ranked #5 in production during the 2015 campaign. In his senior year, he directed his Atlanta high school’s triple option based offense to the State Elite 8, and was later named Metro Atlanta 1st Team Region QB.
