Today United Compounding Management (“UCM”) announced that it began processing claims on behalf of a national client on January 1, 2015. The UCM network is a cost-effective network of leading, accredited compounding pharmacies built on safety, quality, and rational pricing. In addition, UCM reaffirmed that the Company continues to receive significant interest from compounding pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), health plans and employers interested in working with UCM in 2015.

“We are thrilled by the response we have received from stakeholders across the industry to date,” stated UCM President, David Ott. “It is clear that compounding pharmacies who meet our standards, pharmacy benefits managers, and health plans all recognize that the industry needs a solution that marries quality, safety and rationalized pricing – and that UCM’s unique value proposition and our national network can achieve this goal. We look forward to continued growth in 2015 and will be sharing our progress throughout the year.”

The UCM High Performance Network is comprised exclusively of compounding pharmacies that are independently certified by UCM. Our process includes a review of business practices, attestation to a code of conduct, a review of quality practices and compounding specific accreditation by a national review board. This ensures each member pharmacy meets rigorous standards for safety and quality, as well as business and marketing practices. In addition to overseeing credentialing or certification for the network, UCM will be utilizing its proprietary technology to process client claims.

Since announcing the network’s formation in July 2014, UCM has remained steadfast in its goals to create a platform that prioritizes rationalized pricing and high quality compounded drugs. For the past several months, UCM has assessed applications to the Company’s high performance network of leading compounding pharmacies and is now positioned to serve clients nationally. The January 1 initiation of claims processing for a national client marks yet another milestone for UCM.

Industry accredited pharmacies are now able to request credentialing applications on www.ucmrx.com. Pharmacies should allow 20 business days for credentialing application review, at which point notification of approval or denial can be expected. Accepted pharmacies will then be subject to an on-site credentialing survey to ensure state, federal and contract compliance, as well as best business practices.
