NEW YORK, Jan 16 (Reuters) - U.S. oil output from top shale-producing regions is due to decline in February for the fifth consecutive month, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its monthly Drilling Productivity Report on Tuesday.

Oil output in the Permian basin in Texas and New Mexico, the top-producing U.S. region, was set to rise to the highest on record, the EIA said. (Reporting by Stephanie Kelly Editing by Chris Reese )
