The work will occur behind the Fire Training Center along Tookany Creek Parkway and may include areas within the creek in Cheltenham.

Very little vibration or concussion was discernible during the first two controlled blastings, which successfully fractured massive rock formations that had resisted mechanical measures including heavy duty quarry/mining equipment. For the third blasting, the contractor must again comply with all of the requirements under the permits of both the Cheltenham Township Fire Marshal and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Mining.
