The development of hydrogen economy is strongly pursued both at European and Italian level. Considering the strategic importance of hydrogen, but also the investment costs and the need to ensure its use in maximum safety, the winning strategy is certainly the cooperation between industry, research institutes and universities. In this perspective, the Italian Metallurgy Association has organized for Thursday, January 27 the event "The role of materials in the hydrogen economy", sponsored by APCE - Association for the Protection from Electrolytic Corrosions, H2IT - Italian Association of Hydrogen and Fuel Cells and NACE Milano Italia Section.

The event is focused on the compatibility between hydrogen and the materials used for its production, compression, transport, storage and application, starting from the mechanistic aspects, passing through the applications and ending with the current legislation. Speeches will be given by university professors and researchers, together with representatives of important industries in the sector, in order to illustrate their experiences and share knowledge.

Among the speaker companies, also the SIAD Group:

  • 12.00 pm | Materials for hydrogen storage and distribution tanks in pipeline

Alberto Budi - SIAD

  • 16.30 | From methane to hydrogen: technological challenges for a green combustion Simone Losa, Andrea Baio - ESA

The main purpose of this Study Day is to provide a moment of communication between these parties, in order to better understand the problem, know the related skills and create a network to face the fascinating challenges of the energy transition.
