A patchwork quilt of harsh and duplicative local regulations threatens the future of ridesharing in Texas. Already, companies like Uber and Lyft have been driven out of certain cities due to the onerous regulatory structure that has emerged and which is oftentimes championed by entrenched special interests. This panel will examine the current policy landscape and assess what legislative actions, if any, are needed to bring uniformity and predictability to this problematic area of the Texas economy.

Panel:
April Mims, Senior Public Policy Manager, Lyft, Inc.
Mayor Betsy Price, Mayor of Fort Worth
Josiah Neeley, Southwest Region Director, R Street Institute

Moderated by: James Quintero, Director, Center for Local Governance, Texas Public Policy Foundation
