Talksum, Inc., a leader in high-speed data processing and management solutions, today announced a proof-of-concept agreement with the New Mexico Consortium (NMC), one of the largest technology-based businesses in Los Alamos County, New Mexico, to test the Talksum Data Stream Router (TDSR) for data management, filtering, and intelligent routing.

The NMC pursues joint initiatives with the research universities in New Mexico and the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in advanced computing, plant biology, biomedical engineering, and modeling and analysis. The Ultrascale Systems Research Center (USRC) investigates challenges of computing at extreme scales - millions rather than thousands of computers - and poses questions that have not yet been answered in areas such as OS/systems/network software stacks, scalable and reliable runtime and middleware, IO/storage, parallel file systems, data intensive (DISC), and cyber-security.

The NMC currently has over 1,700 servers that continuously generate data in different formats to their respective data research systems.

The TDSR ingests, transforms, filters, data reduces, applies monitors and alerts, aggregates, enriches, analyzes and intelligently routes information in real time from all devices and servers to respective data stores for efficient use. Designed to accelerate real-time decisions, the TDSR improves data acquisition and transformation, and converts any type of structured and semi-structured data into flexibly managed event streams, tailored to most BI and research systems.

"The NMC handles information through over 1,700 servers and has one initiative, for example, that challenges our ability to scale systems and applications to millions of nodes and billion-way parallelism. It is a National Science Foundation funded collaborative project with LANL, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Utah - called PRObE (http://www.newmexicoconsortium.org/probe)," said Andree Jacobson, Computer and Information Systems Manager, New Mexico Consortium. "We must be able to program nodes with thousands of processing elements and achieve reliability at these scales. The Talksum Data Stream Router was built with the same type of focus in mind - speed, simplicity, and efficiency."

"We are excited to enter the POC with the New Mexico Consortium, which has an enormous amount of data generated from so many different devices that needs to be processed, aggregated, and intelligently routed for further processing by analytical and research tools," said Alex Varshavsky, founder and CEO of Talksum. "We are looking forward to showing the TDSR functionality and how it already exceeds volumes of 5 billion events per day on a single device."

About the New Mexico Consortium

The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) is a non-profit corporation formed by the three New Mexico research universities to advance scientific research and education in New Mexico. The NMC pursues joint initiatives with the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in advanced computing, plant biology, biomedical engineering, and modeling and analysis. These initiatives leverage the technical strengths of partnership to achieve technical advances in support of national priorities.

The goal of the NMC is to develop and continually improve models for pursuing collaborative research across partner institutions. This establishes the foundation for vibrant inter-disciplinary, cross-institutional research and puts the NMC in a unique position to tackle global grand challenges.
