Producer Price Index, December 2013


Monthly change in PPI was realised by 1.11%

A rise in general index was realised in the Producer Price Index (PPI) on the previous month basis by 1.11%, and on December of the previous year basis by 6.97%, on same month of the previous year by 6.97% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 4.48% in December 2013.

Monthly change was 2.49% in agriculture and 0.84% in industry

PPI of agriculture increased by 7.58% compared with December of the previous year, increased by 7.58% compared with the same month of the previous year, and decreased by 1.34% on the averages of twelve months basis. PPI of industry section increased by 6.85% compared with December of the previous year, 6.85% compared with the same month of the previous year and by 5.68% on the averages of twelve months basis.

The highest monthly increase was in coke and refined petroleum

PPI monthly increased by 0.66% in the index for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 0.82% in the index for manufacturing and decreased by 1.00% in the index for electricity, gas and water.

The highest rates of monthly increase in PPI by sub divisions of industry were indices for coke and refined petroleum (3.67%), for paper and paper products (2.47%), for wearing apparel (2.26%). On the other hand indices declined for furniture and products n.e.c. (-0.90%), for publishing and printing (-0.18%), for dressing of leather (-0.15%).

In December 2013, within average prices of 788 items in the index; average prices of 164 items remained unchanged while average prices of 460 items increased and average prices of 164 items decreased.
