Students will show their school spirit and pride with a parade of school banners while celebrating great educational options in Tucson timed to coincide with National School Choice Week.

  • A school choice celebration including a parade of schools and many student performances.

  • More than 1,000 students, parents, teachers, and school leaders

  • University of Arizona in the Student Unions - N & S Grand Ballrooms.

Event planners include Alicia Alvarez at Alta Vista Charter High School of Leona Group and Darcy Mentone from the Vail Unified School District, as well as dozens of district and charter schools from across Southern Arizona.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through more than 32,000 independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
