SweetLabs, an app distribution company, today announced the expansion of its app recommendation platform for multimode and Android devices.

In addition to its popular Pokki start menu and app store shipping with new Windows 8.x devices, SweetLabs' platform now provides context-aware app recommendations on both Windows and Android. Pokki dynamically features the most relevant apps based on anonymous user and device characteristics, including context on how, when, and where the device is being used - all in real-time. SweetLabs' technology enables device makers to recommend and filter apps that are optimized for the individual product SKU, the customer base it is being used by, and the mode it is being used in.

For example, the Pokki app store may recommend a multi-touch PC version of Monopoly when an all-in-one desktop lies flat into "table PC" mode, or recommend a hands-free multimedia app like Netflix when a 2-in-1 convertible is switched from "laptop" to "tablet" mode.

"Today's app stores are flooded with an overwhelming sea of apps, so we're excited to work with our OEM partners to differentiate their products by delivering the right apps to the right users on the right devices," said Darrius Thompson, co-founder and CEO, SweetLabs. "By integrating our cross-platform app discovery solution into innovative Windows and Android products, we're able to promote and distribute apps from leading developers through any interface over the lifespan of any device, no matter the operating system."

By extending beyond traditional Windows PCs and providing app discovery solutions for PC plus and Android devices, SweetLabs is opening up the opportunity for app developers to create and promote more compelling apps designed to take advantage of the latest hardware, while enabling device makers to enhance the value and improve profitability of their products.

SweetLabs will debut the integration with All-in-One, Convertibles, and Android devices at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. To schedule a demo at CES 2014, please contact Alan Masarsky at alan@sweetlabs.com.
