ATLANTA, Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Storj Labs, a decentralized cloud storage provider, today announced QRYPTOS, a cryptocurrency exchange serving a global user-base, will enable trading for STORJ, the company's ERC 20 token. For holders of STORJ tokens, this provides added flexibility for trading assets and access to custom tools and analytics QRYPTOS offers to its users.

Mike Kayamori, CEO and Co-founder of QUOINE, which operates both QRYPTOS and QUOINEX trading exchanges, said, "We are proud to list utility tokens issued by decentralized applications that use blockchain technology, such as STORJ. Listing STORJ and other tokens will provide increased benefits for all utility token holders that use our secure ICO listing and trading exchange platform, QRYPTOS. Eventually, we will also list these tokens on QUOINEX, our fiat-crypto trading exchange licensed by the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA), when such tokens meet QUOINEX's listing requirements and receive JFSA approval.

Storj Labs provides its users with affordable and secure storage services across its decentralized cloud storage platform. Their users can trade STORJ tokens as payment for services they purchase using ethereum smart contracts. Storj Labs then uses these payments to compensate the Farmers who operate 50,000 nodes across the globe, sharing their spare hard drive space on the Storj network.

"We are thrilled to see STORJ listed on QRYPTOS and hope this gives our token holders who use the Storj platform added flexibility for exchanging tokens," said John Quinn, cofounder and chief revenue officer at Storj Labs. "As more users and partners adopt the Storj platform, both in Japan and across the globe, QRYPTOS will simplify the acquisition of new tokens to purchase services. We also look forward welcoming users of the exchange into the Storj community."

Launched earlier this year, QRYPTOS will enable trading for STORJ tokens beginning on Thursday, October 19 at 08:00 UTC. The platform is operated by QUOINE, the parent company to QUOINEX, a cryptocurrency exchange licensed by the Japan Financial Services Agency. QUOINE is launching a new platform called LIQUID, which enables token and cryptocurrency trading across different exchanges. LIQUID will list STORJ tokens at its launch in the first half of 2018, providing further liquidity for STORJ token holders. The platform will be built using funds from QUOINE's QASH ICO.

Users who still hold SJCX, the Counterparty token previously issued by Storj Labs, will need to convert their tokens to the new STORJ ERC 20 tokens before they can trade on the QRYPTOS platform. The SJCX token is no longer usable on the Storj platform and can be converted with an online token converter from Storj Labs.
