Consumer prices increased in total by 0,6 %, in the 4th quarter of 2012 compared with the 3rd quarter of 2012. Prices increased in the divisions: education by 2,6 %, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1,5 %, clothing and footwear by 1,4 %, health by 1,2 %, hotels, cafés and restaurants by 1,1 %, food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1 %. Prices of transportation decreased by 0,2 %.
Increasing prices in the division of education were affected by higher prices of pre-primary and also primary education by 4,2 %, education not definable by level by 3,9 %, secondary education by 1,5 %. Prices of tertiary education did not change.
A price growth in the division of alcoholic beverages and tobacco was affected by higher prices of tobacco by 3,1 % and alcoholic beverages by 0,1 % (wine by 0,4 %, prices of spirits and beer remained unchanged).
Higher prices in the division of clothing and footwear were affected by growing prices of footwear by 1,6 % and clothing by 1,4 %.
Growing prices in the division of health were affected by higher prices of medical and pharmaceutical products, therapeutic appliances and equipment by 1,9 % (prices of pharmaceutical preparations and products increased by 3,2 %, other medical products decreased by 0,4 %, therapeutic appliances and equipment did not change), hospital services by 0,4 %, outpatient services by 0,3 % (medical services by 0,4 %, dental services by 0,3 %, prices of other outpatient services did not change).
Higher prices in the division of hotels, cafés and restaurants were affected by increasing prices for accommodation services by 2 % and catering services by 1 % (in canteens by 1,5 %, in restaurants and cafés by 0,6 %).
Growing food prices by 1,1 % were affected by higher prices of meat by 4,8 %, bread and cereals by 1,1 %, milk, cheese and eggs by 1 %, fish by 0,9 %, oils and fats by 0,4 %. Prices of fruit decreased by 8,1 %, vegetables (including potatoes) by 2,1 %, sugar, jam, honey, syrups, chocolates and confectionary by 0,4 %. Prices of non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 0,3 % (prices of mineral water, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices decreased by 1 %, prices of coffee, tea and cocoa increased by 0,6 %).
A decline in transport prices was affected by lower prices of purchase of transport equipment by 0,9 %, operation of personal transport equipment by 0,3 % (prices of fuels and lubricants decreased by 0,5 %, of spare parts and accessories increased by 0,5 %, maintenance and repair by 0,1 %). Prices of transport service activities increased by 0,3 % (other transport service activities increased by 1,6 %, road passenger transport by 0,5 %, prices of air passenger transport decreased by 3,3 %).
