More foreign tourists than in the previous year
In November 2017, almost 240,000 tourist arrivals and more than 577,000 overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodations, which was 9% more tourist arrivals and 8% more overnight stays than in November 2016. The number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 15% and the number of their overnight stays by 16%. The number of domestic tourist arrivals was on par with the previous year and the number of their overnight stays decreased by 1%.

Most tourists from Austria, Italy, Germany and Croatia
Most foreign overnight stays in November 2017 were generated by tourists from Austria (more than 64,000 or 19%), followed by tourists from Italy (18%), Germany (8%), Croatia (7%), Serbia (6%) and the Russian Federation (4%).

Tourists from all key markets increased the number of their overnight stays compared to November 2016. In more detail the number of tourist overnight stays increased the most for tourists from Germany (20%), followed by tourists from Croatia (20%), Italy (19%), Serbia (13%), the Russian Federation (9%) and Austria (5%).

Most overnight stays in hotels
In November 2017, almost 443,000 or 77% of all tourist overnight stays were recorded in hotels, 5% in apartment settlements, 4% in camping sites, 4% in company vacation facilities and vacation facilities for youth and 3% in private accommodations - rented rooms and dwellings. In hotels permanent bedplaces were on average occupied 44% and hotel rooms 51% (net occupancy).

Compared to November 2016, the number of tourist overnight stays increased in all types of tourist accommodations except for camping sites and apartment settlements, in which it decreased by 1% and 8%, respectively. The number of overnight stays went up in private accommodations - rented rooms and dwellings by 20%, in company vacation facilities and vacation facilities for youth by 18% and in hotels by 9%.

In November 2017 the most overnight stays in health (spa) resorts
In November 2017, the highest number of tourist overnight stays in Slovenia (40% or more than 233,000) was recorded in health (spa) resorts, followed by seaside resorts (16%), municipality Ljubljana (14%) and mountain resorts (12%).

Compared to November 2016, in November 2017 more overnight stays were generated in all types of municipalities except for health (spa) resorts, which recorded the same number of overnight stays. The number of overnight stays went up in mountain resorts by 20%, in municipality Ljubljana by 14% and in seaside resorts by 10%.

As regards municipalities, most tourist overnight stays in November 2017 were recorded in Ljubljana (14% or more than 82,000), followed by Piran, Moravske Toplice, Brežice, Bled, Podčetrtek, Rogaška Slatina, and Laško.

By the end of November more tourist overnight stays than in the whole 2016
In the first eleven months of 2017, 14% more tourist arrivals and 11% more overnight stays were recorded in tourist accommodations than in the same period of the previous year. Foreign tourists generated almost 7.7 million overnight stays and more than 3.2 million arrivals and domestic tourists more than 3.6 million overnight stays and more than 1.2 million arrivals, the sum of which is more than 11.3 million total tourist overnight stays.
