Specsavers staff in Bridgend have taken part Macmillan's national coffee morning by holding a bake sale in store.

Customers involved too

The Adare Street team raised more than £80 in one day by hosting a cake sale, with customers also bringing in sweet treats to be sold.

The largest cake of the day was also raffled off to one lucky winner.

Macmillan's annual coffee morning encourages organisations and people across the UK to hold large bake sales with the proceeds funding the charity's support groups, online community groups and phone lines.

'Keen to support Macmillan'

Carly Jenkins, manager of Specsavers in Bridgend, said: 'We all love to bake at the Bridgend store and a the team were keen to support the Macmillan national coffee morning to recognise what amazing work it does with those sadly affected by cancer.

'It's a charity close to my heart, and I would like to thank all our staff and customers for the incredible effort in making our event such a success.'
