Joseph A. LoCicero, President & CEO of The Segal Group, has announced that the firm has acquired a portion of the business of Moroni Fantin, an employee benefits consulting firm located in the Detroit, Michigan area specializing in working with Michigan and national, mid-market, self-insured health plans.

Mr. LoCicero said, "This acquisition enhances and complements our corporate and public sector health practices in the Midwest and nationally. We are very pleased to welcome Robert D. Moroni, Founder and Managing Principal, Kimberly A. Wixson, Principal, and Mary Dennis Jerome, Analyst, to Segal's Midwest Health Benefits Consulting Practice." He noted that Segal has acquired the clients they work with and that Moroni Fantin has now ceased operations.

At Segal, Rob Moroni is a Senior Vice President and Benefits Consultant. Kim Wixson a Vice President and Health Consultant and Mary Dennis Jerome an Associate Consultant. All three are based in Detroit and taking an active role in providing corporate health consulting services throughout the Midwest.

While at Moroni Fantin, Mr. Moroni led the firm's work with major employers in the health care and human resources areas. Prior to Moroni Fantin, he was Director of Health Care Plans at General Motors Corporation. Mr. Moroni served on the board of directors of The Leapfrog Group and the editorial board of the American Journal of Medical Quality. He is a Certified Public Accountant with Masters Degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit.

Ms. Wixson has nearly 20 years of experience in underwriting and actuarial issues. Prior to Moroni Fantin, she was with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) where she worked with major national corporations. Ms. Wixson holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Wayne State University and a master's in health care management from the University of Phoenix.

Ms. Jerome has nearly a decade of experience in the health insurance industry, as a client services analyst at Moroni Fantin and prior to that in new business sales for key and large group business at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. She holds a B.A. from Michigan State University, and an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Finance from Walsh College (Troy, MI).

Mr. Moroni is reporting to John Gingell, SVP and Midwest Regional Leader. Ms. Wixson and Ms. Jerome are reporting to Mr. Moroni.
