This afternoon, 27 January, a movement of the residual mass of the dam in Fundão occurred due to the rain of the passed weeks.
As prevention, and following its Emergency Plan, employees working near the affected area were told to leave the location. There was no need for the company to activate the siren. The civil defenses of Mariana and Barra Longa were duly informed.
The displaced volume remains between the dam of Fundão and Santarém, within the areas of Samarco. The company reaffirms that the structures of the dams in Germano and Santarém remain stable based on continuous monitoring.
