Press release Distributed on 17-01-2017 in Khmer to Koh Santepheap and Rasmei Kampuchea Newly renovated health center in Peach Chreada district inaugurated by Bousra local authorities and SOCFIN Cambodia

Phnom Penh, January 17th, 2017

Financed by SOCFIN Cambodia, the two-month renovation project of Bousra Health Center was completed in December. The inauguration ceremony took place this morning, in the presence of local authorities, Mondulkiri Provincial Health Department representatives, representatives of the population, and representatives of SOCFIN Cambodia.

Over 10 000$ have been invested by SOCFIN Cambodia - a European-owned agro company that manages two rubber plantations in Mondulkiri - to renovate the local health center. In collaboration with M. CHANG Khun, the head of the health center, substantial work has been executed including: fixing electrical and water networks, repairing all rooms and sanitary facilities, repairing and extending the roof and installing a new water tank.

During the inauguration ceremony organized this morning in Bousra, attendees took a tour of the upgraded facilities and had the opportunity to exchange with health professionals to understand the services they provide.

Used to settle in rural areas where health facilities are often limited, SOCFIN has a long history in supporting easy access to health to their host communities. They regularly provide funds and equipment to local infrastructures. The company also provides free healthcare for their workers and families who can also be transferred to qualified hospitals such as Bousra Health Center.

SOCFIN Cambodia and Bousra Health Center will keep working together to make sure the best service possible is offered to SOCFIN employees and to local communities.
