The state's largest sugar marketer, Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL) now has a permanent presence in the Proserpine region with a dedicated Grower Relationship Officer appointed to improve availability and access for local cane growers to QSL's products and services.

Former Proserpine local and cane grower's daughter Caitlin Davy (nee McDowall) is now available to growers five days a week in a more accessible location in the Canegrowers building in Main Street.

Ms Davy said previously Proserpine growers had access only to rotating staff who were available on just 2-3 days a week.

Ms Davy has recently returned to her hometown after a 10 year absence filled with study and work to take on the role of providing information to local growers about the options they have when choosing to use QSL's pricing products and services.

Growers will benefit from Ms Davy's knowledge of the local sugar industry, as well as her experience and qualifications, which includes a Bachelor of Business degree (majoring in International Business & Accounting), and work experience in various management accounting and contract management roles in Mt Isa, Collinsville and Rolleston.

Ms Davy said she was looking forward to meeting with growers and ensuring they were kept up to date with all marketing news and information.

'I'm here to help our growers understand QSL's products and services by providing the information they need that will help optimise their experience in the sugar marketing space, including with QSL-managed pools and self-managed pricing options, the QSL Direct online portal as well as payment arrangements and statements and all other enquiries.

Caitlin Davy, new Proserpine Grower Relationship Officer.

'QSL has a strong focus on providing locally-based, one-on-one support for growers who use our services. Being available every day as well in the Canegrowers office is going to be far more convenient for our busy growers and ensure our service and information provision maintains a very high standard,' she said.

'Joining QSL means I can provide that level of support, and it also means I am able to spend more time with family and friends.'

Ms Davy said she was also looking forward to assisting growers to understand their marketing choice options and QSL's 2019 season range of products.

The Proserpine QSL office is located in the Proserpine Canegrowers building at 88 Main Street.

To make an appointment growers are invited to contact Caitlin Davy on 0429 804 876 or email Caitlin.davy@qsl.com.au
