In December, the PSI-20 Index closed at 5,569.48 points, reflecting a 2.5% upturn than in November and a 13.7% increase than that recorded in the same period in 2020. The key issuers on the Index were Jerónimo Martins (15.41%), EDP Renováveis (12.75%) and EDP (10.16%).

The Index's volatility stood at 11.28%, below that of 17.05% of the previous month and 15.83% of that recorded during the same period last year.

The value of spot secondary market transactions amounted to €1,953.3 million. This is a €828.5 million (29.8%) decrease than in November and €104.7 million (5.1%) less than in December of 2020.

The trading volume in debt securities on MTS Portugal amounted to €1,501.5 million in December, representing a monthly decrease of 83.5%. Treasury bonds fell 47.1% and Treasury Bills decreased by 91.9%.

Market capitalisation of Euronext Lisbon amounted to €214,115.4 million. This corresponds to an decrease of €999.0 million (0.5%) than in the preceding month and 6.9% less than in the corresponding period. The share sector increased 0.6% up to €81,315.0 million and the bonds sector decreased 1.1% down to €132,700.4 million.
