MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan 15, 2014) - Pharma Security Group (PSG) with the support and cooperation of the Canadian Cancer Society and Lupus Ontario, has launched a campaign to provide PSG's medication reminder product, the PharmaClock, to their patients in need. The campaign's goal is to get at least 5,000 PharmaClocks into the hands of patients living in Canada.

PSG is looking to raise enough funds over the next twenty (20) days to supply at least 5,000 PharmaClocks to patients in need. For every $18 of public funding, a PharmaClock pill container with built-in alarm reminder system will be sent to a patient. The goal is to help these patients improve their medication management by reducing the incidents of missed medicine. This has the benefit of improving the medications' efficacy and reducing the patient's stress associated with adhering to a compliance schedule.

This is the first time a medication management company has launched a Canadian initiative to benefit two separate charities. Aaron Simms, President & CEO of PSG, stated "We are thrilled to be part of this campaign. With the support from our friends at the Canadian Cancer Society and Lupus Ontario, we have been able to attract attention and spread the word about this worthwhile program. It's unfortunate that cancer and lupus patients have to endure so much in their lifetime. Remembering to take their medication is just one more stress that they don't need. I believe that both of these charities along with their members will benefit significantly from the contributions made to this campaign. I am proud to be supporting these worthwhile organizations and for being a part of a campaign that is aimed at improving the lives of those less fortunate."

PSG has elected to launch this campaign with Indiegogo, a leading international crowdfunding platform which has raised millions of dollars for thousands of campaigns worldwide. Susan Drodge, Director Corporate and Community Partnerships at the Canadian Cancer Society, stated "The Canadian Cancer Society is pleased to partner with Pharma Security on this initiative. We are so thankful for their customer's support, and look forward to a successful campaign."

PSG will donate a portion of any remaining proceeds back to each charity, and will work with these charities to ensure their members receive the donated PharmaClocks. Juanita Butler, Director of Provincial Support Group Services at Lupus Ontario, stated "This initiative will certainly brighten the lives of many lupus patients. As the majority of our members who suffer from lupus are required to take significant amounts of medication, the PharmaClock will help them comply with their prescribed drug regimens. We are very proud of our partnership with Pharma Security Group, and we look forward to a successful campaign together."

The PharmaClock will not only bring a measure of peace of mind to each patient and their families, but will help to ensure that these patients do not become part of the 125,000 people who die annually due to medication management and compliance errors (according to the Center for Disease Control & Prevention). It is our goal to help make a difference in the lives of people suffering from cancer and lupus and we are relying on the support of the public to help us spread awareness about this initiative and ensure we meet our objective. Thank you.
