Caracas.- On Sunday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro, welcomed the success of the first meeting of the Joint OPEC-non OPEC Ministerial Monitoring Committee, which was held on January 22 in Vienna, Austria. 'I spoke with Minister of Petroleum Nelson Martínez, who informed me that the meeting of the Committee has been a success', said the president on his 'Sundays with Maduro' telecast.

President Maduro celebrated the conformity to the Vienna agreement and the early success it has had. He referred to the words of Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, who spoke of the high level of commitment to the agreement, and that the results we have observed early in the year are 'above expectations'.

He went over international headlines published by various media, which also described the meeting as a success 'at an optimal level of compliance and commitment with the agreement signed on December 10, 2016 by members and non-members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries', said the president.
