'HOT DOG' is the first Number 1 of the New Year. The action-comedy starring Matthias Schweighöfer and Til Schweiger has succeeded in claiming the top position in German revenue charts during its first weekend in theaters. Despite a massive stormfront 'Friederike' in most parts of Germany, the movie achieved 1.31 million euros in revenues from around 150,000 visitors and, hence, referred the previous top performer 'STAR WARS: The Last Jedi' to second position.

The top-class 'HOT DOG' cast also includes, amongst others, Tim Wilde, Samuel Finzi, Heino Ferch, Anne Schäfer and Lisa Tomaschewsky. Torsten Künstler makes his directorial debut with 'HOT DOG'.

With the successful movie release as a box office hit, 'HOT DOG' marks the beginning of a long-term utilization for PANTAFLIX AG throughout various exploitation stages such as home entertainment, including video-on-demand as well as pay TV and free TV.

'We are very pleased that our newest production has exhibited such a successful start. Despite the storm 'Friederike' bringing most of Germany to a halt, our loyal fans have not let themselves be kept from going to the movies,' says Dan Maag, CEO of PANTAFLIX AG.
