Portland, OR-The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has fined Denton Plastics $8,967 for failing to do all required monitoring for stormwater pollutants at its northeast Portland facility.

Denton Plastics discharges stormwater into the Columbia Slough. Under its DEQ stormwater permit, the company must monitor stormwater for iron and other pollutants to ensure it is complying with pollution levels allowed in its permit.

Industrial pollutants in stormwater can contaminate streams, rivers and other waterways and threaten the health of Oregon's people and environment.
