As part of the government's newly-launched National Employment Program, Ooredoo organised a one-day recruitment event attended by more than 340 candidates. In collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower and Public Authority for manpower register and supporting the implementation of the royal decree, the event aimed to provide plenty of recruitment opportunities for Omani job seekers. To this end, Ooredoo remains dedicated in their efforts to recruit, prepare and support the professional development of home-grown talent.

With over a 90% Omanisation rate, Ooredoo set the scene for the much awaited event by inviting close to 500 national job seekers to the venue. The initial stage has seen more than 340 attendees participate in a two-step, rigorous assessment made up of a written test and an interview. Middle and senior level management representatives were on hand to provide guidance and support for those who needed to find out more about the recruitment process. This event will see 40 successful applicants being recruited to work at different levels within the company.

Kumail Al-Moosawi, Chief People Officer at Ooredoo, commented on the significance of the event. 'We are very proud to be part of this initiative which reflects our commitment to the development and creation of opportunities for Omani talent. We are always looking at new ways of supporting the Omani workforce by providing professional training programmes designed to help them obtain the necessary knowledge and skills they need to fulfil their professional aspirations.'

Aiming to be an employer of choice for Omanis, Ooredoo has launched a variety of professional development programmes throughout the years with the clear intention of improving skill levels and employability of the Sultanate's local talent. Past initiatives include, the Springboard Programme, organised in partnership with the British Council, as well as a project for undergraduate students held in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University. Ultimately, these in-house programmes are geared towards key qualifications and increase levels of proficiency and expertise of the national workforce.
