O'Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM), a research-based, equity money management firm with approximately $6.5 billion in assets under management, today announced the promotions of Scott Bartone, Patrick O'Shaughnessy and Ashvin Viswanathan to Partner and Portfolio Manager.

In their new roles, Bartone, O'Shaughnessy and Viswanathan are responsible for investment strategy research, product development and client service. With their appointments to equity partner, one-third of OSAM's employees - and 84 percent of the investment management team - are now equity partners.

Scott Bartone manages client portfolios and reviews current holdings and market exposures, while generating and executing trades with various brokers. He also educates new and prospective clients on OSAM's strategies and investment research. Before joining OSAM, Bartone was Account Maintenance Specialist at Bear Stearns and Co., where he was responsible for providing operational support for broker staff and trade issue resolution between third-party money managers and Bear Stearns. Bartone holds a BA in Communications from the State University of New York at Albany and is a Level III CFA candidate. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Cornell University with a 2014 expected graduation. Bartone lives in New Canaan, Conn.

Patrick O'Shaughnessy, CFA, is responsible for generating new research to enhance investment strategies through stock selection, portfolio construction or asset allocation. He is a contributing author to the fourth edition of What Works on Wall Street and the author of several market commentaries, including "The Same Old Bear," which earned awards from Advisor Perspectives for The Top 25 Venerated Voices TM by Author and The Top 10 Venerated Voices TM by Commentary. He is also the author of the forthcoming Millennial Money: How Young Investors Can Build a Fortune, published by Palgrave Macmillan. A Chartered Financial Analyst, O'Shaughnessy holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. O'Shaughnessy lives in New York, N.Y.

Ashvin Viswanathan, CFA, is responsible for generating new research to enhance investment strategies through stock selection, portfolio construction and asset allocation. He reviews each of OSAM's models and approves them for trading daily. Prior to joining OSAM, he was an Investment Research Analyst at Zephyr Management LP, where he assisted in managing both benchmark aware and absolute return oriented emerging market strategies using a proprietary quantitative discipline. Previously, he served on the global equity team as senior portfolio engineer at Guardian Capital LP in Toronto. A Chartered Financial Analyst, he holds a Bachelor of Mathematics, Honors Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Mathematical Finance degree from the University of Toronto. Viswanathan lives in Forest Hills, N.Y.

Bartone, O'Shaughnessy and Viswanathan were previously Assistant Portfolio Managers at OSAM.
